Spring Bounty is Here!

Cassandra, harvesting lettuce mix for CSA shares

Hi Folks! We’ve been hard at work the past month getting the farm planted full of fresh crops. We’re expecting our most bountiful and diverse season yet. Get ready for spring onions, spinach, cilantro, and sweet romaine in the boxes the new week and carrots & broccoli the week after. Getting a high tunnel built this Fall meant we got herbs, tomatoes, and cucumbers planted in the tunnel early, and we are expecting our first

tomato & cucumber harvest in April (yay for tomato season lasting a little longer!) Check out the chart below to see our upcoming forecast of veggies that will be in the shares.

VRDNT FARM Team Spring'24

Were you bummed out we had to close CSA signups this winter? Well– the wait is over! All CSA signups are open again. Spring veggie harvests are coming in hot, and we have room to sign up new members. We appreciate you recommending us to your friends/ family <3

Spring Farm!

Farm updates:

In addition to growing in a new high tunnel this winter, we are growing many new varieties & crops this year (stay tuned on the blog for the full scoop in a future post). We have planted about ¼ acre of flowers for our bees and market flower bunches. We are already harvesting an (almost) overwhelming amount of beautiful flowers. This winter, we took some time to completely overhaul our irrigation system and replace all our water lines with a more efficient lay-flat system.  We are feeling better organized and efficient than any season before and are excited to be growing the CSA.

P.S. Ada left big shoes to fill after masterfully managing the blog for us the past few years. I am incredibly grateful for all the time we have worked together, and her recipe roundups will continue to be a source of cooking inspiration. I (Farmer Becky) am back at the helm of our marketing/blog again. I am going to make some tweaks to our format, but I hope to bring y'all a fresh batch of farm info and inspiration this Spring.
