The start of a new year is always a time for reflection and resolutions. We thought we’d add ours into the mix to let y’all know what a few of VRDNT Farm’s goals and intentions are for 2025.

Better Communication
We’ve been having some email issues and mishaps over the last few weeks, with lots of our communications landing in spam without us realizing. We fixed the problem and are now resolving to keep a better eye on things for the future to ensure we’re communicating well with you, our community. You can also help us avoid email trouble by adding csa@vrdnt.farm to your contact list to make sure we always keep in touch.

Integrating the Robot
We have been itching to get the farming robot into the field more. It had a test run in the fall, which helped us see that some things worked and some didn’t. Now, the robot is calibrated and ready for spring seeding and cultivating. We’re excited to see how it performs, and we’ll keep you updated. Haven’t heard about our awesome robot? You can read all about it in a previous blog post HERE.

Creating Habitats for Pollinators & Native Wildlife
We’re teaming up with NRCS this year to build boxes for eastern screech owls and plant pollinator- and monarch-friendly flowers. Creating habitats for these owls and insects will form a symbiotic relationship between them and the farm. While we provide a home for them, the eastern screech owls will keep small rodents out of the fields, and the monarchs and pollinators will help our crops bloom and fruit.

Growing our Team
The VRDNT crew is small but mighty, and we’ve been chugging along through the winter just fine. With the intense planting and harvesting of spring and summer on the horizon, we’re looking for another amazing person to join the team. We’re hiring for a Farm Assistant; check out the details HERE.
