Farm Holiday CSA Schedule
First things first. The farm will be closed 12/24- 12/26 and will not be delivering CSA shares those days.
If you’re a CSA Member, please fill out this form to acknowledge you are aware of the schedule change and let us know if you would like us to donate or pause your share that week. (Keep reading to learn about our donation program and how you can help!)
VRDNT Donation Program - Can we get to $2500?
Things have been running so smoothly at the farm lately. (Becky wrote about this in last week’s post). Instead of putting out fires, we’ve had the opportunity to cultivate systems and procedures… the kind of thing a small business can only really do when they’ve got some breathing room.
One thing that we’ve really been able to hone in this past year is our donation program. So far this year, VRDNT has donated $2,068.88 worth of produce. This is a ton of food given our farm’s size, and it’s something we’re really proud of!
This produce has gone to Saffron Trust and Keep Austin Fed, the latter of which is our current donation partner. Nearly every week, we gather a delivery of donations - carrots that look a little wonky or lettuce that didn’t sell at market - and drop it off to Keep Austin Fed’s location at Sour Duck.. which just so happened to be a CSA Pickup Location. The synergy surrounding this mutual aid to our community is heartwarming and motivating, to say the least.

Your Contribution
Last Christmas, CSA Members donated shares totaling up to $425 in produce. Can we beat that number this year? Can we get our 2022 total from $2,068.88 to $2500? (Or more?) Donating your holiday CSA share (instead of postponing it) is a way for you to help us do more! We will donate the value of your CSA share to Keep Austin Fed and give them items they request (like maybe full cases of lettuce) instead of actual CSA shares. To let us know if you’d like to donate your share, please fill out this form.
(P.S. Donating a share isn’t reserved for the holidays… you can do this anytime you’re going out of town or need to skip a week!).
